Windsor Soccer Club – 2020 Soccer Relaunch Announcement

On June 17th, the Windsor Soccer will relaunch all of our soccer programs. The Windsor Soccer board is working directly with CJSA and the US Youth Soccer Association to ensure the safety of our players, coaches, referees, and communities.

US Youth Soccer has provided a comprehensive guide for return to play. The Windsor Soccer Board is providing this document to help summarize those details and provide you information on what the Windsor Soccer Club will specifically be doing to keep our children safe on the field.

In addition, to all of our normal safety and sportsmanship practices Windsor Soccer will be asking all coaches, players, and parents to follow these guidelines:

Windsor Soccer Board

  • Create and distribute protocols to all members.
  • Have a comprehensive communication and action plan to keep all parents and players fully informed of changes to active play guidelines.
  • Maintain participant confidentiality regarding health status.
  • Provide coaches and staff detailed training and communication on protocols and requirements including state and local regulations.
  • Fully prepared to shut down operations should that need arise.

Coaches

  • All coaches will be required to read and acknowledge all US Youth Soccer and Windsor Soccer Club rules and guidelines.
  • Ensure the health and safety of the players.
  • Start every meeting, practice, and/or game by asking all players how they are feeling.
  • Ensure that all players come with their own equipment. No sharing.
  • Only coaches will be allowed to handle equipment (e.g. cones, flags, etc)
  • Ensure social distancing during all practices and games. Space out players bags and equipment at least 6’, even when not in use.
  • Observe social distancing themselves with players and parents.
  • Masks are encouraged when not actively training.
  • Wipe down all equipment, including balls, benches, cones and any other items that may have been touched by a Coach or Player during practice or game with sanitizer.
  • Have FUN.

Players

  • Do not come to practices or games if they are feeling sick.
  • Wash hands thoroughly before and after training.
  • Bring hand sanitizer with you to all trainings.
  • Do not touch or share any else’s equipment, water, or food.
  • No group celebrations, high-5’s, handshakes, hugs.
  • Masks are encouraged when arriving to and leaving the field.
  • Always follow coach and referee instructions.
  • Have FUN.

Parents

  • Ensure your child is healthy prior to dropping them off for all practices and game.
  • Consider not carpooling or limiting carpooling.
  • Adhere to social distancing when entering, exiting, and viewing practices and games.
  • Masks are encouraged at all times.
  • Ensure child’s training clothes and uniforms are washed after every training/game.
  • Ensure child’s equipment is sanitized before and after every training.
  • Notify the club president immediately if your child becomes ill for any reason.
  • Have FUN and cheer on all players.

Referees

  • Will be following the direction and guidelines provided to them by the Connecticut State Referee Program.

Windsor Soccer realizes that these are very uncertain and sometimes confusing times. We can assure you that our primary commitment is to provide all of the Windsor Soccer participants a safe, structured, and fun experience.

All of the members of the Windsor Soccer Club board and staff are fully open to your comments, concerns, and feedback. Through open dialog we can ensure that all the kids have a great experience on and off the field.
